For the second straight game, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings found himself in the middle of a confrontation. A week after being fined for striking Panthers safety Tre’von Moehrig, Jennings was criticized by Cleveland Browns defensive linemen Myles Garrett and Shelby Harris, who accused him of making “demeaning and disparaging” comments after Browns defensive tackle Maliek Collins was carted off with an injury.
“I can’t speak for how he was raised, but if you have nothing good to say, don’t say something to somebody,” Garrett said. “He had a lot to say that was demeaning and disparaging toward some of our players. … Some guys roll like that. I don’t feel like that belongs in the game.”

After Collins went down with a quad injury during the third quarter of San Francisco’s 26-8 win over Cleveland on Sunday, multiple Browns players, including Garrett, exchanged words with Jennings. Garrett said Jennings’ comments were not related to Collins’ injury, but that he was just “yapping.” After the injury to Collins, who played for San Francisco in 2024, several 49ers players approached him on the cart and consoled him, including offensive lineman Trent Williams and tight end George Kittle.
Harris’ comments toward Jennings were even more pointed.

“(Jennings) says some things you should not say to another man, ever,” Harris said. “But I don’t respect it because you say that, then run behind your (offensive) line. That’s some real soft s—.”
“You don’t talk about people’s wives and families,” Harris said as he was leaving the locker room, according to Cleveland.com reporter Ashley Bastock. He did not elaborate on the nature of Jennings’ comments.
Last week, cameras appeared to show Moehrig throwing a punch at Jennings below the belt in the final minutes of the Panthers-49ers contest, when the game was already decided. Jennings threw several open-handed punches after the game, which led to him being fined $12,172 by the league. After the game, Moehrig attributed his actions to “dirty stuff” from Jennings.
“I mean nothing ever dirty in my game has ever been like that unless it was, you know, kind of, earned, you know what I’m saying?” Moehrig said.
Jennings received two votes for being the NFL’s “most annoying player” in The Athletic’s 2024 anonymous player survey. Last season, Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold slapped Jennings during a scuffle, leading to both players being fined.
The wide receiver caught four passes for 39 yards and a touchdown in the 49ers’ convincing win over the Browns. He’s posted 23 receptions, 246 yards and four touchdowns in his last five games. He signed a two-year extension worth up to $15.4 million with the team in 2024.
