WNBA star DiJonai Carrington gave a positive update on her rehab from injury. The Minnesota Lynx guard sustained a significant mid-foot sprain in her left foot back in September. It happened during a game against the Golden State Valkyries and was ruled out for the remainder of the 2025 season.
Carrington is set to use the offseason to take care of her body and recover from the injury. Unrivaled Basketball also announced that the 2024 Most Improved Player will miss the league’s second season. She plays for the Mist with Breanna Stewart, Allisha Gray, Arike Ogunbowale, Veronica Burton, Alanna Smith and Li Yueru.
On X (formerly Twitter), Carrington revealed that the doctor told her everything looks great.

DiJonai Carrington gets candid about her plans amid her injury rehab
DiJonai Carrington won’t be able to see any on-court action anytime soon. Her top priority is to recover well from the foot injury and be at 100% once the 2026 WNBA season starts. With a prolonged absence from the court, Carrington has begun to look for other ways to stay busy.
In October, TMZ Sports caught up with the WNBA player. She expressed her disappointment about how her season ended. However, Carrington revealed that she’s planning to tap into the social media scene.
“Now I’m thinking about how to maximize this next however long I’m not going to be able to play for — something on social media, whether it’s streaming, really tapping into that beauty side, YouTube videos, TikTok, I don’t know yet,” the Lynx guard said.
DiJonai Carrington has expressed her interest in the beauty and fashion world. On her Instagram, the former second-round pick consistently posts herself in various outfits. With a long offseason ahead, Carrington could make herself busy without a basketball.
