Alyssa Farah Griffin has been missing all week from The View following the Thanksgiving Day weekend break.
When the ABC talk show returned on Monday following the holiday weekend, Griffin was absent from the Hot Topics table. Following three days of absence, the conservative co-host took to social media to address why she hasn’t been on the show.
“Hey guys! I’ve been down sick with a stomach virus but will hopefully be back on The View tomorrow,” Griffin wrote in a post she shared on Instagram Stories.
Griffin, who is 6.5 months pregnant, said, “It’s no fun being sick” in that state, adding, “Remember it’s that time of year — be smart, use hand sanitizer, stay home if you’re sick.”
In her note, Griffin hoped to be back on the panel on Thursday, December 4, to resume debating the latest political and pop culture Hot Topics.
On the show that aired Monday, December 1, Whoopi Goldberg noted that Griffin was out for the day. Goldberg was joined by Sarah Haines, Ana Navarro, and Sunny Hostin. Joy Behar is not usually there on Mondays, and her absence was expected.
Griffin joined The View in 2022 to give the conservative point of view at the table after working in D.C. for the Trump administration. The political analyst was Press Secretary to Vice President Mike Pence before joining the Department of Defense in September 2019 as Press Secretary. In April 2020, she worked directly under Donald Trump as the 3rd White House Director of Strategic Communications. She resigned from her position in December 2020 and a month later condemned Trump for inciting the U.S. Capitol attack on January 6, 2021.
