Well, most kids are afraid of ghouls.
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and his wife Jennifer appeared on Katie Miller’s podcastTuesday, presumably for a little damage control amid Hegseth’s Sept. 2 double-strike controversy.

In an attempt to normalize a man who many say likely committed a war crime, Miller decided to play a little game with the couple called “Cabinet Confidential” a little over 25 minutes into the episode, in which Miller asks her guests to choose someone from President Donald Trump’s Cabinet as their answer.
“Who would you trust to babysit your kids? This can only be another member of the Cabinet,” Miller asked Hegseth.

“I mean, not your husband,” Hegseth said, referring to White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller.
“Or Marco [Rubio],” Hegseth added, referring to the secretary of state.
And at that, all three burst out laughing because the thought of two of the most powerful men in Washington, D.C., not being able to handle a task typically relegated to a teenager is hilarious.
“I would trust the vice president,” Hegseth said. “I mean, I’ve known Sean Duffy for years. I would trust him. I would trust Brooke Rollins or Pam [Bondi]. Tulsi [Gabbard]’s incredible.”
Other details we learned about Hegseth in this interview are that his comfort foods are cereal and bread, his favorite guilty pleasure TV show is “The Office,” what his favorite chicken wings are (the flats, as opposed to drumsticks) and that his dream dinner party guests would be Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“It’d be a dinner for peace,” he said, adding that the meal would consist of steak and “Russian dressing” on salad.

Despite Hegseth and Katie Miller’s attempts to make the secretary of defense look like a normal, everyday family man, many commenters on YouTube weren’t exactly buying the act in the comment section — with one user just writing the lyrics to the chorus of the Talking Heads’ song, “Psycho Killer.”

“How to whitewash a war criminal with Katie Miller,” one commenter said.
“Who knew committing WAR CRIMES are family values…” another viewer said, referring to the video’s title, which was “Pete & Jen Hegseth on Family Values, Job Transition, & Military Readiness.”
“I might as well get out a bucket to start vomiting with the amount of nonsense,” said another YouTube commenter.
“What decent person dreams of sitting at the same table with Putin, whose hands are up to the elbows in blood?” said another.
