After the dramatic conclusion of the Calvin Russell saga, Syracuse football’s 2026 class is officially signed. At least for the early period. It should be noted that the late signing period begins on Wednesday, February 4th. Syracuse could, potentially, add more signees at that time.Â
The recruiting class is a historic one for Syracuse, and that will be among the breakdowns in our class superlatives below. Despite a subpar season on the field which saw the Orange finish with a 3-9 record and on an eight game losing streak, Syracuse was largely able to keep the class together. There was only one flip to another program on National Signing Day. That would be Tyrell Grant, who signed with Virginia Tech despite posting on social media Monday that he was “1,000% locked in” with Syracuse. That shows just how fluid recruiting can be.Â
Regardless, it is the third straight impressive offseason in terms of talent acquisition for Syracuse. When Fran Brown first took the job, he was able to procure one of the nation’s best transfer portal class that helped lead to a 10-3 season in 2024. The 2025 campaign was off to a good start, thanks in part to a mix of key portal additions and talented youngsters, before an injury to starting quarterback Steve Angeli derailed things.Â
Now, the Orange perhaps its most hyped recruiting class in recent memory. Here is a more in-depth look at the class.Â
