Some more details now on that statement we’ve just received from the Metropolitan Police.
Some people have been treated by London Ambulance Service and taken to hospital. The police say: “Their injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.”
Metropolitan Police Commander Peter Stevens also says that “at this stage, we believe the incident involved a group of people known to each other, with an argument escalating and resulting in a number of people being injured.”
Stevens adds that officers “responded quickly” and “there will be an increased police presence at Heathrow Airport throughout the morning” to continue enquiries and ensure safety in the area.
He repeats an earlier comment that this incident is not being treated as terrorism-related.
