“Since I’ve been on the show, this is the best team I’ve had, across the board, without a shadow of a doubt,” said Horan after his four Artists performed. “I’ve loved working with all of you. I have to make a heart-wrenching decision,” he added. This is Horan’s third season as a Coach, and as he won during his previous two times in the red chair, he knows a thing or two about having a strong team.

Knowing that after the episode aired, viewers would be able to vote an additional Artist from either his team or Snoop’s through to the Finals, Horan begged the audience to choose one of his three remaining singers. “I really hope America starts picking up that phone and starts voting for one of you guys, please,” Horan said.

We’ll find out which Artists round out the Top 6 when Live Shows begin next week, so tune in to see if Horan’s wish came true.

The Team Snoop and Team Niall finalists on The Voice delivered so much emotion

Ultimately, it was crooners who won the day. Horan gave his Live Finale slot to the fair-haired collegiate Aiden Ross after he delivered a pitch-perfect performance of Damien Rice’s “The Blower’s Daughter,” explaining that he based his decision “on a catalogue of performances and what I know is coming down the road.”

“I’m going to the Lives. Oh my gosh! I’m so thankful that Niall saw something in me,” said Ross afterward.

Snoop, too, was moved by a heartfelt young man, longtime fave Ralph Edwards, who sang “A Song For You” by Donny Hathaway. “My heart is pounding. I’m basing my decision on perseverance, showmanship, spirit of music. With that being said: Ralph,” he said to announce his pick. The newly engaged Edwards reflected, “It’s a dream come true to be this far.”

Added Snoop, “Ralph’s got an incredible voice, and I feel like he’s strong enough to deal with anybody on the other three teams.” We’ll see if that’s true next week when he takes on five other incredible Artists for a shot at winning The Voice.
