The Missouri Department of Corrections announced that a former Major League Baseball player completed a substance abuse treatment program and would be released from prison on probation.

On August 25, Boone County Judge Brouck Jacobs sentenced Blake Tekotte to 120 days of substance abuse treatment for assault and kidnapping.

If he had not completed the program, he would have served a ten-year sentence.

When Tekotte is released from prison, he will be on probation for five years.

In July 2025, a Boone County jury found Tekotte guilty of Second Degree Domestic Assault and Second Degree Kidnapping.

The charges stem from an incident on November 17, 2023.

A woman said Tekotte hit and strangled her and hid her phone and purse, before she was

able to escape and get to safety.
