Daniel Mincey, a UAB football player, is charged with assaulting Joshua Underwood and attempting to murder Jasire Peterson by stabbing both with a knife, according to court records.

In new documents filed, Mincey states he intends to plead guilty as a youthful offender rather than an adult. By doing so, he is also waiving his right to a grand jury indictment and a jury trial.
