When fans of the Los Angeles Dodgers think about great first basemen throughout the storied franchise’s lifespan, names like Steve Garvey, Gil Hodges, and Eric Karros. But Freddie Freeman brings a respected sense of style and professionalism to his play.
Freeman has been an integral part of the Dodgers’ success over the past couple of seasons, when the franchise won back-to-back World Series championships.

Last season, Freeman hit .298 with 24 home runs and 90 RBIs. He finished with an OPS of .869, which was seventh in the National League.
Of course, Freeman cut his teeth on NL pitching during his tenure with the Atlanta Braves, where he also won a World Series title. In 12 seasons playing for the Braves, Freeman reached a high home run total of 38 back in 2019.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts probably feels very comfortable making sure that Freeman is part of the everyday lineup.
But Freeman isn’t just a professional on the field. Whenever he’s in front of reporters or others respected in the world of baseball, Freeman always conducts himself with class and dignity.

As much as a lot of baseball fans dislike the Dodgers’ franchise, the words “class” and “dignity” do fit for the Dodgers.
Yes, Los Angeles has a boatload of money and a boatload of prospects, too. They both could be used in tandem to get new players before the 2026 season begins. The Dodgers already upgraded their bullpen by signing free-agent reliever Edwin DÃaz.
But Freeman isn’t going anywhere.
When the Dodgers get back in less than 70 days for Spring Training down in Florida, Freeman will be ready to get back on the baseball diamond. One thing that Dodgers fans have come to expect is seeing Freeman deliver in clutch moments.

Of course, he did that back in the 2024 World Series when he came off the bench to hit a game-winning, walk-off, grand slam home run. It marked the first time in World Series history that such an occurrence had happened.
That was just one of many moments for Freeman that Dodgers’ fans will never forget.
Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman and general manager Brandon Gomes have made sure that Freeman is going to stick around.
Freeman is a father of three children with his wife, Chelsea. He’s a devoted father and husband who is not shy about showing how much he loves them in public.

The Dodgers could not have a better representative for their franchise than Freeman.
Look for Freeman to have a stellar season in 2026, hopefully playing a key role in leading Los Angeles to another World Series appearance.
