New dinosaur statue on Philadelphia's Manayunk Bridge officially named after previous statue vandalized

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — The results are in, and the new dinosaur statue at Philadelphia’s Manayunk Bridge Garden officially has a name.

The community was asked to submit name ideas, and Manny came out on top with 46% of the votes.

Other potential names included Archie, Roxie, and Schuylie.

Manny replaced the garden’s previous dinosaur statue, Bridget, after vandals broke off its head in November.

The beloved 300-pound Tyrannosaurus Rex statue had been a staple at the Manayunk Bridge Garden for four years.

Holod’s Garden Center in the city’s Roxborough neighborhood donated the new statue for neighbors to enjoy shortly after the vandalism.

Manny is already feeling the love from the community, as a kind neighbor has dressed him up in festive gear for the holiday season.
