PAMPA, Texas (KFDA) – For the past week, Pampa has been buzzing with sightings of a familiar green troublemaker.
Social media posts tracking the Grinch’s appearances around town quickly caught the attention of local law enforcement.
Deputies carried out an official “task force operation” near N. Cuyler St. and W. Kingsmill Ave.
The Grinch was found with stolen Christmas presents and stirring up holiday mischief.
“The last reports we had were that he was stealing candy canes and presents,” said Tyler Jernigan, chief deputy of Gray County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO).
The Grinch was transported to the Gray County Jail and booked on charges including:

After being booked, the Grinch left a “grinchy” voicemail with the sheriff’s office, claiming he would be meeting with a judge soon and would be out in no time.
Officials confirmed the Grinch escaped tonight.
