IT’S ALL HAPPENING AT THE INTERSECTION OF REPUBLICAN PLEASURE STREETS. WDSU REPORTER ALYSSA GOMEZ IS LIVE AT THE SCENE WITH THE VERY LATEST INFORMATION. YEAH, WE DON’T HAVE TOO MANY DETAILS YET, BUT THERE ARE STILL OFFICERS WORKING THE SCENE. YOU CAN SEE THEM KIND OF BEHIND ME AND INVESTIGATORS SPEAKING TO FOLKS IN THE AREA. NOW, WE DO KNOW THAT SOMEBODY IS UNDER ARREST AT THIS TIME, BUT WE DO NOT HAVE A NAME FOR THAT INDIVIDUAL YET. NOPD SAYS THAT THIS IS A DOMESTIC SIMPLE KIDNAPING. JUST ABOUT AN HOUR AGO, THERE WAS A LARGE POLICE PRESENCE, INCLUDING NOPD, STATE POLICE, FBI, K-9 UNITS AND MORE. A SECTION OF PARIS AVENUE UNDER THE I-610 BYPASS WAS CLOSED FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. I SPOKE WITH OFFICERS ON THE SCENE THAT SAY THAT THEY ARE WRAPPING UP THE INVESTIGATION. THE NEIGHBORS IN THE AREA ALSO SHARED SOME MORE DETAILS ABOUT WHAT THEY SAW THIS MORNING. WHEN THEY LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW, THERE WAS A WHOLE BUNCH OF POLICE OUT HERE THIS MORNING, YOU KNOW, AND I GUESS THE MAN CAME OUT WITH HIS HANDS, PUT PUT HIS HANDS UP. AND THAT HAPPENED. AND THEN AFTER HE CAME OUT, THEN THEY TOLD EVERYBODY TO GET OUT. THE ONLY THING YOU SAW IF YOU LOOKED OUT YOUR WINDOW WAS BLUE LIGHTS, AND A BUNCH OF PEOPLE WITH GUNS, YOU KNOW, AND THAT BIG OLD TANK LOOKED LIKE THEY.
