A 53-year-old man visiting Hawaii has died after being found unresponsive at Turtle Bay this afternoon, according to Honolulu police.

Police said the man was found unresponsive while in waters at Turtle Bay.

Honolulu Ocean Safety responded to a 911 call at about 1:30 p.m. for the man. Upon arrival, bystanders had already pulled him from the water and begun CPR. Lifeguards continued the CPR, with the assistance of the Honolulu Fire Department.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services took over with advanced life support, and rushed the man in critical condition to the hospital where he later died.

Police said the man was pronounced dead at the hospital, and that there are no signs of foul play at this time. The case has been classified as an unattended death.
