According to a release from the Council Bluffs Police Department, officers got a call just before 5:45 p.m. Tuesday for a home invasion near 33rd Street and 2nd Avenue.
When police arrived, they found the victim on top of another man, restraining him until help arrived.
An initial investigation found that the 41-year-old victim owns the house, which is vacant and being fixed up. As the victim was leaving his nearby residence, he saw someone in the house, the release states.
He then went into the residence to confront the man. The victim was stabbed by the man several times and was taken to the hospital.
The other man was also transported to the hospital to treat “a minor cut on the back of his head,” the release reads.
North was arrested following the incident. CBPD says he is being held at the Pottawattamie County Jail.
