COLUMBIA — Two Columbia police officers fired shots at a suspect armed with a knife at a gas station on Stadium Boulevard Thursday morning, a Columbia Police Department spokesperson told KOMU 8 News.
Officers responded to the BreakTime gas station in the 3200 block of East Stadium Boulveard at 10:48 a.m. for a call concerning a man with a knife, police said in an update posted to Facebook.
The two officers were not injured during the incident, McNeill said. The suspect was taken to a local hospital and that his condition was unknown, McNeill said.
No one else was injured.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, which is standard procedure for shootings involving an officer.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the incident as mutual aid but left when the scene was under control, McNeill said.
