A mild earthquake of magnitude 3.9 struck the Ruma upazila of Bandarban, Bangladesh, on Friday evening.
According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) and the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), the tremor occurred at 18:13 IST (6:43 pm local time) at a shallow depth of 10 km.
The epicenter was located at 22.07° N and 92.51° E, approximately 289 km southeast of Dhaka.

A 40-year-old woman was arrested in northwest Delhi’s Rohini on Friday for allegedly ramming her car into a police barricade and injuring a constable.
The incident occurred late Tuesday night (December 24) in Sector 11 while the woman was returning home from a birthday party. Police confirmed she was driving under the influence of alcohol when her white car struck Constable Rohit of the 1st Battalion, Delhi Armed Police. The injured officer was rushed to BSA Hospital for treatment.
The woman, a private sector employee and resident of Sector 16, has been charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and her vehicle has been seized.

Extremist group Saraya Ansar al-Sunna claimed responsibility via Telegram, stating they detonated multiple explosive devices.
This marks the second major attack on a religious site since the ouster of Bashar al-Assad last year, following a June church bombing.

US secretary of state Marco Rubio called Honduran President-elect Nasry Asfura on Friday to congratulate him on his election victory. Asfura, a conservative businessman and former mayor of Tegucigalpa, was declared the winner Wednesday with 40.27% of the vote, narrowly defeating Salvador Nasralla (39.53%).
