Pennsylvania State Police said an investigation is underway following a multi-vehicle crash along a portion of I-80 in western Pennsylvania on Monday. According to a release from PSP Clarion officials, a multi-vehicle crash occurred at mile marker 69 in Clarion Township at 1 p.m. Officials said it is unclear how many people were injured. No word on how many vehicles in total were involved. PennDOT officials said that the section of I-80 reopened around 9 p.m., nearly eight hours after the crash occurred. Motorists, at the time of the incident, were given two different detours, after one had to be changed due to a downed tree blocking the road. “Anyone traveling on Interstate 80 and other roadways, please slow down due to snow on the roadway,” the release said. “Also be aware of snow squalls located in heavy traveling areas like Interstate 80.”Following the crash, PennDOT has issued a speed limit restriction between Exit 53: PA 338 – Knox and Exit 73: PA 949 – Corsica. Speed limits are restricted to 45 mph for all vehicles, and commercial vehicles must move to the right lane.Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact PSP-Clarion at 814-227-1710.
