BRENHAM, Texas (KBTX) – A water main break along East Blue Bell Road prompted a citywide boil water notice Monday night, according to the City of Brenham.
City officials said the break occurred around 8:02 p.m. at 613 E. Blue Bell Road, disrupting water service and pressure for residents across the city. Crews worked to isolate the leak, and by 9:12 pm, the city reported the issue had been contained and that water and pressure were expected to be restored shortly.
Despite the repair, a boil water notice remains in effect.
Officials are advising the public to boil tap water before drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth as a precaution.
City crews remain on scene and will continue monitoring the system as it stabilizes. The city said updates will be posted on its website and official social media pages, with notices time-stamped as new information becomes available.
