Emily VanCamp has signed on to the cast of director Michael Mailer‘s Little Audrey, a supernatural spiritual mystery that began production Monday in Buffalo, New York.

Also joining VanCamp (The Resident, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) in the ensemble are Jennifer Esposito (Crash, The Boys, Fresh Kills), 2x Emmy nominee Aidan Quinn (Benny & Joon, Practical Magic, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee) and VanCamp’s husband Josh Bowman (Time After Time, Doctor Who, Miranda’s Victim), marking the first time the couple has played onscreen love interests since they met on ABC’s Revenge (2011-’15).

The cast is rounded out by Ciaran Byrne (The Second Sun, Public Morals) and Robert Wahlberg (Mystic River, The Departed), as well as Ciaran’s daughter Mabel Byrne, making her film debut in the titular role.

Inspired by the real-life story of Audrey Santo, who died at age 23 in 2007 after she was left in a vegetative state since childhood, the film centers on a Vatican-ordered investigation into reported miracles surrounding the teenage girl with akinetic mutism.

Closely following the events around Santo’s life since the 1990s and claiming to have witnessed several of the miracles firsthand, Jeff Thomas enlisted Caitlin McCarthy to pen the script for Little Audrey.

VanCamp is repped by United Talent Agency and Thruline Entertainment; Esposito by Innovative Artists and Echo Lake Entertainment; Quinn by Curtis Brown Group and Framework Entertainment; and Bowman by The Gersh Agency and United Agents, managed by Inspire Entertainment.

McCarthy, an inaugural Sundance Institute Cultural Impact Fellow, is represented by Barry Krost Management.
