For the next two days, General Hospital will feature classic episodes, including Luke’s goodbye to Port Charles. The very first new GH episode of 2026 will air on Friday, January 2. It will focus on Sonny warning Michael, and Alexis deciding upon a new strategy.

Key Takeaways

Classic GH episodes air midweek, including Luke’s farewell to Port Charles.

Sonny issues a warning as Michael’s situation grows more complicated.

Alexis pivots strategically, determined not to repeat past courtroom mistakes.

Next on General Hospital: Friday, January 2, 2026

Michael (Rory Gibson) is currently the epitome of cool, calm, and collected, despite the drama in his life involving Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). Granted, he has no idea that someone eavesdropped on his conversation with Tracy (Jane Elliot).

Whoever it was conveniently overheard Tracy admit to seeing Michael at Drew’s on the night of the shooting. And that she was prepared to perjure herself on the stand at Willow’s trial in order to protect him. He is a Quartermaine after all. He also has no idea that the eavesdropper dropped Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) a note telling her about this secret exchange.

Regardless, Michael knows that his alibi is shaky. But he remains solid and unshakeable. Even Sonny (Maurice Benard) doesn’t understand how Michael (is he playing Jacinda?) could be so unflappable right now. Look for Sonny to warn Michael. What words of warning and wisdom is he about to share with his son?

Sudden Pivot

Alexis blew it after putting Portia (Brook Kerr) on the stand. She was so determined to prove Willow’s innocence and spend time with Scout (Cosette Abinante) that she didn’t vet Portia’s story.

Instead, she blindsided Portia. She did considerable damage to the woman’s life when she forced the doctor to testify about her airtight alibi in front of her family.

Well, Alexis isn’t going to want to make the same mistake again. She has that letter pointing a finger at Tracy and Michael. However, she’s going to make sure that when she does blow up their lives, it’ll benefit Willow’s case. As a result, Alexis decides upon a new strategy. So how will she proceed?

New Orders

In other news, Kristina (Kate Mansi) is taken aback, and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) confers with Justine (Nazneen Contractor). Meanwhile, Laura (Genie Francis) will most likely continue to do what she and Sonny agreed upon.

If Laura gets new marching orders, as the weekly spoilers suggest, then she will either have another meeting with Sidwell (Carlo Rota). Or she’ll actually come face-to-face with Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove).

Whatever it is, she will end up doing Sidwell and Ezra’s bidding. Let’s hope this is something Laura can live with and won’t compromise her ethics too badly. She already had to publicly back Sidwell’s purchase of Sonny’s waterfront property. What will he want her to do next?
