A victim has died after a hit-and-run in Pelham on Wednesday, according to the Shelby County coroner. He was identified as Douglas McQueen, 57.He was riding a bicycle in the northbound lanes of Pelham Parkway (U.S. 31) near Amphitheater Road around 6 a.m. when he was hit, according to the Pelham Police Department. He was often seen riding his bike around the city.The coroner had been called to the scene and originally reported that McQueen had died, but police later clarified that he was on life support. On Thursday the coroner confirmed that McQueen had died at the hospital. Howard Milton Murphy , 76, of Alabaster was later arrested within Pelham city limits. He is being held in the Shelby County Jail, charged with leaving the scene of an accident, resulting in injury or death.
