Rumors about the Wonder Woman DCU casting continue to pop up, with a new report suggesting what DC Studios is looking for in its next iconic superhero casting.
What is the latest Wonder Woman DCU casting rumor?
According to a new report from insider MyTimeToShine, DC Studios is looking to make sure the next version of Wonder Woman is up to any task. The latest rumor notes that DC Studios is looking at “every young ‘hot’ (as in, upcoming)” actress, who will reportedly make her debut in the upcoming Superman follow-up, Man of Tomorrow.
The insider also notes that DC Studios is looking for actress who are “tall,” in their 20s, and also possesses “fighting skills.” The latter of these requirements is likely the most important, as anyone who is cast in the role will likely have to do a ton of fighting in whatever DCU projects she stars in.
Currently, information about the next Wonder Woman remains mostly under wraps. James Gunn has shut down rumors that a casting will be made this month, so it’s unclear as to when DC Studios will announce, or even find, the right woman for the job. Prior to the future new Wonder Woman, the character was played in the DCEU by Gal Gadot, who starred as the character in several films.
