The Grand Rapids Griffins’ Sebastian Cossa today became the first player in nearly five years to win consecutive AHL goaltender of the month awards.
Cossa went 7-0-1 in December, posting a 1.76 goals-against average, a .929 save percentage and two shutouts in eight starts to help the Griffins on their historic start to the season (26-1-1-1, 54 points).

The Detroit Red Wings selected Cossa, 23, in the first round in 2021 (15th overall). He leads the AHL in wins (15-1-1), GAA (1.65), save percentage (.936) and shutouts (four).
