State Rep. Ismail Smith-Wade-El (D-Lancaster) took to Facebook to question the legality of President Trump’s actions.
“The unilateral violation of sovereign territory and the kidnapping of a foreign leader is an act of war,” said Smith-Wade-El. “Doing so without consultation with Congress violates our own laws.”
Smith-Wade-El also drew comparisons from the operation in Venezuela to previous American acts in Iraq and Iran which caused “undue suffering” and cost Americans, Iraqis and Iranians their lives.
