Following the exit of Country “Froggy 98.1” WFGY Altoona PA morning host Jojo in mid-December, his co-host Alyssa ‘Lily’ Sansone has announced her resignation from Seven Mountains Media.
Lily joined WFGY in June 2016 after serving as Operations Manager of Rowan University’s 89.7 WGLS-FM Glassboro NJ. She was teamed with Jojo for her entire run, which also included the show being syndicated to sister “Big Froggy 101” WFGE State College in 2023. She also tracked middays at the company’ “Pop Radio 103.5” WPKB Parkersburg WV.
Lily shared, “After ten unforgettable years behind the microphone, I’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to step away from Froggy Radio. What started as a dream job turned into a decade of laughter, storytelling, music, and connection with the most loyal listeners anyone could ask for. Being part of your mornings—and your lives—has been an honor I’ll always carry with me. As much as radio will always be part of who I am, this season is calling me in a new direction. I’m excited to pursue a new career opportunity in the private sector, while also devoting more time to my family and the passion projects that have fueled me—especially my love of reading and the incredible community built through Lily’s Book Club. Sharing my journey in motherhood, along with stories, conversations, and a deep love of books, has been one of the most personal and meaningful parts of this chapter, and I’m forever grateful for the listeners who walked alongside me through it all.”
She continued, “These last ten years haven’t always been easy. My mental health took a big decline in the last 5 years. Being in the public eye has definitely taken a toll on me, and I need to focus on taking care of me. I want to be clear that this decision was made with a full heart and deep gratitude. I never wanted—nor expected—any drama to come from my leaving. It comes from a place of growth, balance, and respect for everything that came before it. I moved here as a 26 year old kid who really didn’t know much about the real world, just me and my cats and my beat up car! Thank you Jojo for 10 years of laughter, content, friendship, inside jokes and entertainment. What a ride we had!! We did something not many in local radio have done, and I truly cherish that time we had. Thank you to Froggy Radio for believing in me, to my coworkers who became family, and to the listeners who showed up day after day—you made this journey unforgettable. This isn’t goodbye, just a new chapter, and I’m so grateful for every moment we shared. I am looking forward to being able to be a mom first. ”
Seven Mountains Media has not yet announced its plans for mornings at either WFGY or WFGE.
