Update: Steineger has reached out to Lambgoat with his own statement regarding the split:
He shared:
I made the choice to step down as guitarist of coalesce.
The public attention surrounding my personal failures has become too heavy a burden for my family and loved ones, and I need to step away from public life to focus on accountability, repair, and healing, which I am now doing professionally.
I accept responsibility for my choices and for how they have impacted others. At the same time, the matters that have been made public deserve to be addressed in a private, professionally mediated setting, with restorative healing and reconciliation as the goal, not public spectacle.
I ask, unequivocally, that no one harass or attack any individual connected to this situation. Please do not contact them to direct anger or cruelty in my name or the name of the band. That behavior is unacceptable and serves no constructive purpose.
I am grateful to my former bandmates for their honesty and care in handling a difficult and painful situation. My choices are mine alone. I wish them well in continuing on without me.
In the wake of recent allegations leveled against guitarist Jes Steineger, Coalesce have effectively parted ways with the member. The band have also canceled their upcoming European tour.
The Kansas metalcore veterans appear to have wiped their social media presence, with confirmation of the split and tour cancellation surfacing via Roadburn Festival, who announced the band’s withdrawal from the event.
A short statement was included with that from the band, it reads:
Coalesce has parted ways with their guitarist and, as a result, will be unable to fulfil the upcoming shows.

On Christmas Eve, December 24th, 2025 from a former student of Steineger at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO, alleges an inappropriate relationship with them through email which then turned slightly physical. Which was detailed in several Reddit posts.
While both parties were reportedly of age and, at one point, willing participants, Steineger ultimately resigned or was let go following an internal investigation conducted by the school’s HR department.
It was alleged that Steineger provided the student with his personal email address, bypassing the university’s established communication protocols between faculty and students.
No public statement was ever issued regarding his departure from Lindenwood University.
