East Texas country music singer Neal McCoy will say the Pledge of Allegiance at the White House Wednesday morning to celebrate his 10-year daily Pledge of Allegiance recitation.
The ’90s country hit-maker also revealed Tuesday night that President Donald Trump might join him as he says the Pledge of Allegiance via Facebook Live on his page, “Neal McCoy Multi-Platinum Country Artist.”
“What we’ve been informed — there’s just a possibility, not even a probability — but a possibility that President Trump could stop by and say the Pledge of Allegiance with us,” McCoy said in a Facebook Live video Tuesday night. “He’s got a lot of stuff going on, especially right now. … We think we may have an opportunity.”
McCoy’s fans will need to be awake bright and early to watch McCoy say the Pledge of Allegiance live from the White House via Facebook Live. The Pledge of Allegiance could take place as early as 7 a.m. Eastern/6 a.m. Central, McCoy said, but it could take place later than that. McCoy will post updates every 30 minutes on his Facebook page to keep fans apprised. But notice is not promised.
“It could be where [Trump] just sees us and comes over and says, ‘Hey, Neal, I know you said you wanted to do the pledge. Let’s do the Pledge of Allegiance right now,’” McCoy said. “But then I’m not gonna have time to give you any notice. I’m just gonna do it, and hopefully, you’ll be able to catch it on the replay. Just stay alert.”
People who want to catch the livestream can enable Facebook Live notifications, which will alert them when McCoy starts his livestream.
As of Tuesday, McCoy said he has participated in more than 30 interviews while on the East Coast to discuss his widely known habit of saying the Pledge of Allegiance with his fans every day for 10 years, without fail. Wednesday will mark his 3,654th consecutive Pledge of Allegiance.
