The Seattle Seahawks are the overwhelming favorites to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy next month, according to a supercomputer projection.

Ahead of the post-season getting underway, ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) has processed thousands of simulations to determine the winner of Super Bowl LX.

And the data reveals that the Seahawks hold a commanding 20.0 percent chance of winning the championship, placing them well ahead of their nearest rivals.

However, hot on their heels, according to the FPI, are the Denver Broncos, who also finished 14-3 in the season and hold a 14.0 percent chance of Super Bowl glory.

Finally, the Los Angeles Rams round out the top three contenders with a 13.8 percent probability of going all the way and winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

The projections suggest a massive year for the NFC West, with two teams from the division ranking in the top three for title probability.

The reigning champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, are not favorites to win it according to the data but have still been given an eight percent chance of retaining their title.

Following behind Nick Sirriani’s team are the New England Patriots, who have been given a 6.3 percent chance of winning, despite finishing with a 14-3 record.

The Patriots will face the Los Angeles Chargers, who went 11-6 this season, in their first game of the post-season on Sunday afternoon.

At the other end of the table, the Carolina Panthers defied the odds by making it to the postseason, however, have been given a 0.6 percent chance of going all the way.

Of course, the likes of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens will not be competing for the Super Bowl, having missed out on the post-season altogether.

Meanwhile, the supercomputer has also provided the statistics that will be relevant as we prepare to head into the Wild Card Weekend.

The FPI suggests that the Seahawks have a staggering 58.4 percent chance to make their conference championship game.

Respectively, the Broncos have been given a 54.9 percent chance of doing the same, while the Los Angeles Rams have a 40.9 percent chance.

The Football Power Index (FPI) is a ‘measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team’s performance going forward.’

The results are based on 10,000 simulations of the remainder of the season and take into account ‘results to date and the remaining schedule.’

The data is updated daily to reflect injuries, momentum, and roster changes.

The Wild Card Weekend will get underway at 4:30pm ET on Saturday, when the LA Rams take on the Carolina Panthers. Later in the day, the Packers take on the Bears.
