Like Wembanyama, Marchand was one of the standout names of his home Games two years ago, claiming gold medals in the 200m individual medley, 200m breaststroke, 200m butterfly, and 400m individual medley. He also won bronze in the 4x100m medley relay. In the process, he became just the fourth swimmer and third male swimmer in Olympic history to win four individual gold medals at a single Games.

The 23-year-old has since added more hardware to his already impressive collection, winning a pair of golds (200m individual medley, 400m individual medley) and a silver (4x100m medley) at the world championships last year.
