Christian Eriksen is a player who needs no introduction. The 33-year-old former Spurs and Man Utd player has played on some of the bigger stages and now he could be about to move to Wrexham.
Christian Eriksen was let go by Manchester United at the end of last season, having spent the last three years playing at Old Trafford. In that time he made 107 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals, with his 2022/23 season being particularly impressive.
That year, the 33-year-old Dane scored once and assisted eight more in the Premier League for the Red Devils. But he’s now a free agent and reports linking him with a move to Wrexham have really picked up in the last 24 hours.
Daily Mail reported on Friday that Wrexham have made a stunning approach to sign Eriksen on a free transfer this summer. In fact, Eriksen’s agent has even failed to rule out a potential move to the Racecourse this summer.
So far, Phil Parkinson has signed six new players, having completed a £5m deal to sign Lewis O’Brien from Nottingham Forest just this week.

Eriksen has had peaks and troughs in his career like any player. But on the whole, he’s someone who has been a regular Premier League player and perhaps one of the best number 10s we’ve seen since the turn of the century.
He’s played alongside some huge names in his career, one such player being Bruno Fernandes. The Man United skipper is a big fan of Eriksen and when the Dane left Manchester United early this summer, Fernandes gave a glowing review of Eriksen’s abilities.
Fernandes was quoted as saying at the time: “It was a pleasure and a privilege to play alongside Christian. He is a top, top player who has been at the top level for so long. At the same time, he is a top, top person. I am very grateful that I had the chance to play with Christian.
“He is always professional and ready to help the team. Even in this season, which was difficult for him because he played less and less. But he was always there in training and in matches, and he was always positive. He deserves the best in the future, and I will cheer for him.”

Expect there to be widespread interest in signing Eriksen. He’s arguably one of the hottest names on the free agent market right now and if Wrexham really do want to sign him then it’s a sign of their ambition and intent as a club.
Speaking earlier in the summer, after his release by Manchester United, there was speculation that Eriksen could return to Spurs where his former Brentford manager Thomas Frank is now in charge.
Eriksen was asked about the possibility of returning to Spurs and he firmly ruled it out saying that he’d had no contact from Frank.
Eriksen said: “No, not where we are now. Thomas should call if anything happens,” and when asked if Frank had called him Eriksen, replied: “No no no.”
There will be a lot of caveats with a Wrexham move for Eriksen but on the whole it’s a signing that would really excite fans and further help the club to market themselves on the global stage.
Wrexham are back in action on August 2nd with a pre-season friendly against FC Groningen.
