Tyreek Hill took to social media and posted a cryptic message Thursday, which just so happened to come after the Miami Dolphins fired head coach Mike McDaniel:

Finding a new head coach is just one of many things the Dolphins have to do this offseason.

They also have to find a new general manager, make a decision on quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and, perhaps, come to some type of resolution with Hill as well. ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided some of the financial factors in the quarterback decision in particular:

Tagovailoa led the league in passing yards and was a Pro Bowler in 2023, but durability and inconsistency have been issues the past two years. In 14 games in 2025, he threw 15 interceptions and finished 32nd in the league in QBR, per Pro Football Reference.

It certainly didn’t help that Hill was limited to just four games because of injury, which removed one of the Dolphins’ top weapons from the offense.

Those might have been his last four games with the team, as ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques noted “there’s no certainty he returns to his trademark level of play. Considering he represents a nearly $30 million cap hit in 2026, there’s no way Hill returns on his current deal—if at all.”

Cutting the wide receiver with a post-June 1 designation would save the team $36 million on the cap, so it would be anything but a surprise if that is what it ultimately decides to do this offseason.

Which means the 2026 Dolphins could look much different than they have in recent years with McDaniel, Hill and perhaps even Tagovailoa no longer part of the team.
