Is Ben Affleck & Jennifer Lopez’s co-parenting solution falling apart? New reports indicate that The Batman star’s kids aren’t happy with his ex-wife sticking around.

A source told Rob Shuter in his Substack ShuterScoop that there needs to be some boundaries reset. “The kids love their dad, but they’re just tired of having Jennifer Lopez around all the time,” the insider said. “It’s not that they dislike her—they just want normalcy and some space.”

Another insider added, “Their routines feel disrupted. Ben tries to balance it, but it’s clear they’re overwhelmed by the constant celebrity attention and Lopez being in the house so often.”

The situation is apparently getting sticky for Affleck, but it’s hard to juggle everything at once. “He’s trying to do right by everyone,” the source said. Ben wants the kids to feel comfortable and happy, but blending a family in the public eye is never simple.”

Lopez and Affleck filed for divorce in 2024 after the two reunited and married in 2022. Since they got married, they’ve made it their mission to have a happy blended family. Affleck has three kids from his marriage to Jennifer Garner: Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 13. While Lopez shares twins Emme and Max, 17, with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

Lopez and Affleck have been spotted together during red carpet events at The Kiss of the Spider Woman and several outings involving their children. “Sometimes the kids just need a quiet night at home without cameras or constant attention,” another insider adds. “They’re still learning how to navigate all of this.”

In an interview with Howard Stern, the This Is Me…Now star revealed that she wants to get closer to her kids after they told her that she wasn’t a “regular mom” and wasn’t “here everyday. “I think when the pandemic happened, I got to stay home, [and] I realized I need to be more home with them all the time,” Lopez stated. “I realized how much they needed me there. It wasn’t just about me giving them a great life. It was about me being there for them all the time.”

Garner also recently talked about how she finds co-parenting with Affleck to be productive and nurturing for their kids. “I’m able to co-parent at this point in time with peace and equanimity and a partnership that I didn’t know I would ever get back to,” the 13 Going on 30 star told Marie Claire UK. “I think it’s important for women to know, when they think, ‘Oh, I’ll never see that, I’ll never have that feeling, I’ll never be friends with this person again’ [that] time is the opportunity. Time is the opportunity to heal. Time is the opportunity to forgive, to move on and to find a new way to be friends.”
