A few hours after landing dynamic slot receiver Que’Sean Brown, the Hokies landed another wide receiver commitment, this one coming from Louisiana Tech standout Marlion Jackson.

Jackson arrives in Blacksburg after spending the early part of his career at Louisiana Tech, where he developed into a veteran presence in the Bulldogs’ program. Listed at 6-foot 2-inches and 215-pounds, Jackson gives the Hokies a bigger, stronger option on the perimeter as James Franklin continues reshaping the roster.

“This program has prepared me for the next chapter in my life,” Jackson posted on Twitter when he announced he was entering the Transfer Portal. “After prayer, reflection, and conversations with those I trust most, I have decided to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal to pursue opportunities that align with my long-term athletic and professional goals.”

At Virginia Tech, Jackson brings multiple years in a college strength program, experience in an FBS locker room, and the tools that can translate quickly in the ACC. He has length, strength, and versatility, which the Hokies have lacked at the outside receiver position.

Jackson is currently a redshirt junior with one year of remaining college eligibility.

As a high school recruit, Jackson was unranked by 247Sports.

In 2025, Jackson recorded 20 receptions for 370-yards and two touchdowns. Over his three year span at Louisiana Tech, he has recorded 46 catches for 753-yards and three scores, averaging 16.4 yards per reception.
