A coastal Maine golf course is once again being recognized among the best in the nation.Boothbay Harbor Country Club has been named to Golfweek’s 2026 list of the top resort golf courses in the United States, marking the sixth consecutive year the course has earned the distinction.The annual rankings are based on evaluations from more than 800 expert raters who assess courses on a range of factors, including design, conditioning and overall player experience.Owner Paul Coulombe said the recognition is especially meaningful given the competition.“I mean, we’re really competing with the Pinehurst and Pebble Beaches of the world,” Coulombe said in an interview with Maine’s Total Coverage. “And to have that level of recognition up here in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, says a lot about the golf course and country club.”Located along Maine’s rugged coastline, Boothbay Harbor Country Club has gained national attention in recent years for its scenic layout and course conditions, drawing golfers from across the country.Coulombe said the club is continuing to build on that momentum. He confirmed the course is welcoming new members for the 2026 season and is planning additional improvements in the coming years, such as new hole designs and on-course housing.
