Heated Rivalry is actually getting heated up. With news of its next season coming up, the lead star, Hudson Williams, surprised the audience of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. In an episode on January 8, 2026, he made the viewers laugh out loud, with some hooting at his presence.

It was when the highly acclaimed host Jimmy Fallon asked Williams if he had some hockey exercises to share that night with the audience. Drawing on the skills he learned while filming Heated Rivalry, an erotic hockey drama, the actor demonstrated a position to the host that he practiced 90% of the time during the series’ shoot.

Getting down on his knees, Williams took support of his hands while leaning forward on the ground. Saying “this is the best as it gets,” he asked Fallon to join him.

While the host took the same position, Williams asked him, “You have to stretch your hips.”

Looking at the position Fallon had taken, Williams stated,

I doubt your hips are being stretched.

The fun only got weirder when they switched to the main stage, with the band as well teasing an erotic music in the background.

During Williams’ time on the show, Fallon spoke of the highly acclaimed steamy sports drama getting a second season. What are the details? Let’s have a look.

Based on a series of novels by Rachel Reid, Heated Rivalry is getting another season. Shane and Ilya are all set to pick up their hockey sticks again.

Per Time, both HBO and Crave have announced that the series will get a second and intriguing season. A video was even shared on social media by HBO, in which Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie could be caught teasing, “The game’s not over.”

We can expect the next season to explore more about the two leads’ relationship, now that Shane and Ilya have confessed their love for one another.

Meanwhile, as per Williams’ words stated during his time on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,

Season 1 is like an internal battle; Season 2 is more of an external battle.

While no plot details have been spilled by the production about Heated Rivalry Season 2, Times reported that its premise will be picked from The Long Game, the sixth book in Reid’s series. This will likely create the next hurdle in the two sportspersons’ relationship.

The Way Heated Rivalry Shocked Its Own Creators

While Heated Rivalry has become a popular TV series, it is still well behind the top shows, such as Stranger Things and The White Lotus. However, the creators were surprised that it was accepted by the audience so quickly.

It premiered on HBO Max and Crave with minimal promotion and received a warm welcome from fans.

Over time, the series gained roughly 30 million streaming minutes, but by December 26, the first season had reached 324 million minutes, according to Luminate, as reported by The New York Times.
