EastEnders spoilers follow for Monday’s episode (12 January), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has aired an unexpected clue about Anthony Trueman’s death in a suspicious new scene involving Jasmine Fisher. As she is forced to think about her biological father’s shock Christmas Day murder, are we closer to discovering who killed him?

Kat Moon is currently in Corfu trying to track down Chrissie Watts, who the family think killed Anthony, in a desperate bid to free potentially innocent Zoe Slater from prison.

Meanwhile, Jasmine has moved into The Vic, with Alfie taking her under his wing, and she is attempting to make a good impression with her new family.

Patrick is consumed by grief for his son and guilt that he wished him dead hours before his murder. In today’s episode, he got a call from the funeral director, telling him that Anthony’s body was ready to view the next day.

Patrick put on a brave face and suggested a family dinner, and Yolande encouraged him to make amends with Jasmine before he had another regret to contend with.

Reaching out was a struggle for Patrick, but Yolande told him to build bridges in tribute to Anthony. They headed to the pub and Patrick apologised to Jasmine for lashing out at her, inviting her round later so they could get to know each other.

Jasmine got ready to go to the Truemans’ but was apprehensive and feared that this meeting wasn’t a good idea.

She arrived at the house armed with a bottle of rum and immediately bonded with Patrick – even though he told her she had brought the wrong type of alcohol.

Yolande showed Jasmine some old photos of Anthony ahead of the funeral, and the teen was surprised to learn that her dad had more children and she had brothers.

As they spoke about the unfair loss of Anthony, Jasmine felt increasingly uncomfortable. She claimed to feel sick, so made her excuses and rushed out of the house.

Patrick and Yolande were confused about Jasmine’s mysterious exit, as their family bonding ended rather abruptly. But does Jasmine’s reaction stem from guilt – and could she have killed Anthony herself?

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
