He said “recent challenges facing the district” did not influence his decision to resign.On Friday, the county executive’s office said Cassilly sent Kocher’s name to the Harford County Council, urging members to move expeditiously to confirm the appointment.”With the school system facing significant challenges, it is essential that the Board of Education operate at its full complement,” Cassilly said in a statement. “Stability and experienced leadership are especially important during these uneasy times.”If confirmed, Kocher will serve the remainder of Poynton’s term.
