WIESBADEN (dpa-AFX) – Germany’s tourism sector continues its record-breaking trajectory, buoyed by a slight increase in visitor numbers in November 2025. Hotels and other accommodation providers with at least ten beds registered 465.5 million overnight stays by domestic and international guests from January through November of last year.

According to the Federal Statistical Office, this figure marks a 0.1 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year, which had already set a record with 465.1 million overnight stays. In the full year 2024, the industry in Germany counted 496.1 million guest overnight stays—more than ever before, narrowly surpassing the pre-pandemic record set in 2019.

In the first eleven months of the past year, overnight stays by domestic guests rose by 0.6 percent to 388.4 million, according to the statisticians in Wiesbaden. In contrast, establishments saw a 2.2 percent decline in overnight stays by international travelers, falling to 77.2 million. In November, the figures for both groups increased compared to the same month the previous year./ben/DP/zb
