Crysencio Summerville has flattered to deceive since joining West Ham United from Leeds United in the summer of 2024.

Summerville gave everyone a glimpse of what he is actually capable of during West Ham’s FA Cup win over Queens Park Rangers on Sunday with a goal and an assist.

However, the challenge now for the 24-year-old will be to replicate the form he showed against QPR for the remainder of the Premier League season.

Nuno Espirito Santo needs the former Leeds man to catch fire, if he is to have any chance of guiding his side away from the drop zone.

Summerville’s energy and pace really stood out for West Ham against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday and he unquestionably has the ability to go on a consistent goalscoring run now.

After the FA Cup win over QPR, Summerville insisted that he’s ready to fire West Ham to safety.

However, it seems like he could have actually left the London Stadium in the summer.

How Crysencio Summerville felt about potentially leaving West Ham

Summerville was brought to the London Stadium for £20 million 18 months ago.

In spite of his obvious quality, though, he definitely hasn’t lived up to what was expected of him.

The Dutchman has just two goals and six assists to his name in 39 games for the Hammers, and that’s simply not good enough.

According to a report from The Athletic, Summerville was a transfer target for Nottingham Forest in the summer.

Interestingly, Nuno was the manager of Forest at the time, and he was on the hunt for a replacement for Anthony Elanga.

Forest actually made an enquiry for Summerville.

The 24-year-old Hammer allegedly had no interest in leaving.

How much confidence does the win over QPR give you heading into Spurs? 👀

Oh, how sweet it would be to start to turn things around against them 😍

That must be great for West Ham fans to hear, because Summerville clearly not only likes being at the club, but is also obviously ready to fight tooth and nail for them.

Nuno has to find a way of getting the best out of the pacy winger.

He can be a real difference-maker for West Ham, if he performs to the best of his ability.

A player of his calibre should have no problem notching five goals and five assists between now and the end of the season, as an absolute bare minimum.

Hopefully Summerville’s performance against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday will have given him the spark he needs to rediscover his very best form.
