ATP Auckland Day 3 Predictions
Nuno Borges vs Eliot Spizzirri
Head-to-head – Borges 1-0 Spizzirri
Nuno Borges is the more experienced player in this matchup and already holds a head-to-head advantage. Eliot Spizzirri is a young, rising talent who has done well to come through qualifying and produced a dominant first-round win over the experienced Adrian Mannarino. Borges had to fight hard in his opening match, but his consistency and experience at this level should be enough to see him through.
Prediction: Borges in 2
Cameron Norrie vs Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Cameron Norrie and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard should be in for a tight battle. Mpetshi Perricard comes in with confidence after reaching the quarterfinals in Brisbane, while Norrie suffered an early exit there. Norrie will be forced to do a lot of defending against the Frenchman’s serve and forehand, and if Mpetshi Perricard is able to dominate from the baseline, he should be able to edge this one out.
Prediction: Mpetshi Perricard in 3
Hamad Medjedovic vs Jakub Mensik
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Hamad Medjedovic has come through qualifying and has already played three matches this week, including a three-set battle in the first round. Jakub Mensik, on the other hand, is beginning his season here and should be the fresher player. Mensik is shaping up as a potential dark horse for the Australian Open, and his game should be primed enough to make relatively short work of Medjedovic.
Prediction: Mensik in 2
Casper Ruud vs Fabian Marozsan
Head-to-head – Ruud 0-1 Marozsan
This could be one of the more interesting matches of the round. Casper Ruud is playing his first match of 2026 and may be a bit rusty, while Fabian Marozsan comes in with confidence after already beating the defending champion Gael Monfils. Marozsan is a big hitter, and Ruud’s spin friendly groundstrokes could actually feed into the Hungarian’s linear shot making. Having already beaten Ruud in their only previous meeting, Marozsan may just have enough to clinch this one.
Prediction: Marozsan in 3
