Garcia made a crucial late save to prevent Racing from equalising, before the visitors went up the other end of the pitch and finished things off through Lamine Yamal.
Here’s what Torres made of it all after the final whistle.
“We didn’t expect it to be so tough. We were a little surprised that they closed down so much. We know it depends on us. We knew we had to stretch the game out, give them some breathing room, and in the end it worked out well,” he told the media.
“That last one of the game… thank goodness we have Joan. I think the teams prepare for matches very well. They have very high-quality players, and that’s why it’s so difficult.”
Barca had to work hard for the win but did enough to progress and will now take their place in the quarter-finals of the competition.
