While the Los Angeles Dodgers were busy making waves on the free agent market, their cross-town neighbour Los Angeles Angels made some noise of their own with a trade.

The Rays received infielder Gavin Lux from the Reds and RHP Chris Clark from the Angels in exchange for Lowe, while Cincinnati acquired LHP Brock Burke.

Lowe, 27, spent the first five years of his MLB career with Tampa Bay after the franchise took him 13th overall in the 2016 draft.

The Marietta, GA native made his pro debut in 2021 and has held a .250/.306/.414 slash line through 403 games. Lowe finished 2025 with 11 homers — second most of his career — to go with 40 RBI and 18 stolen bases on a .220/.283/.366 line.

Lux, 28, is a six-year MLB veteran. His career began with the Dodgers after being taken 20th overall in 2016 and he spent five seasons there before he was traded to the Reds in 2025. He played in 140 games with Cincinnati, posting five home runs and 53 RBI on a .269 batting average.

As for Clark, the righty prospect also heads to the Rays after being in Los Angeles’ system for two years. The 24-year-old was drafted in the fifth round in 2023. He spent 2025 playing A-level ball with the Inland Empire in the California league.

Meanwhile, Burke, a 2023 World Series champ with the Texas Rangers, now heads to his third team through a five-year MLB career. He spent his last two seasons with Los Angeles, posting a 3.40 ERA and 9-2 record through 90 games. The 29-year-old former third-rounder holds a career ERA of 3.88 to go with a 21-12 record (eight starts).
