HELENA, Mont. — Grizzly bear populations have expanded in number and distribution on both sides of the Continental Divide and the Greater Yellowstone area.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and parks has increased focus to help the public stay safe, avoid conflict, and educated people on how to stay safe.

Montana FWP released a new resource for information called ‘Grizzly Bear Conflict Dashboard’.

This Conflict Dashboard will help the public and landowners with knowing conflicts, where they are, and what other are experiencing.

“Managing grizzly bear conflicts continues to be a priority for our staff and the workload is increasing every year,” said FWP Director Christy Clark. “This dashboard will help inform the public about just what kinds of conflicts Montanans are dealing with and where they’re happening.”

Last year FWP released a ‘Grizzly Bear Mortality’ dashboard and are currently working on a relocation dashboard that will come out later this summer.
