JAKARTA – Indonesian tennis star Janice Tjen has won the WTA 250 Hobart International 2026 doubles event with her partner from Poland, Katarzyna Piter.

Janice/Piter managed to climb to the highest podium after defeating the pair of Magali Kempen/Anna Siskova (Belgium-Czech Republic) in a straight two-set match 6-2 and 6-2 at the Hobart International Tennis Centre, Australia, on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

This is Janice’s second title with Piter in the WTA Tour. Their duet previously produced a title at last year’s Guangzhou Open in China, which was also a 250 WTA level.

“I’m obviously very happy. This is the second time we’ve played together and it’s been amazing. We’ve really enjoyed it and so far we’ve won the two tournaments we’ve been in together,” Janice said.

Janice/Piter will next play together in the doubles at the 2026 Australian Open next week. They will face the host doubles Daria Kasatkina/Arina Rodionova in the first round which will take place on January 20.

In addition to appearing in the doubles sector, Janice will also compete in the women’s singles sector. He immediately got a big test meeting Leylah Fernandez who is the 22nd seed from Canada and a finalist at the 2021 US Open Grand Slam.

“Hopefully we can continue next week [at the Australian Open]. Today was our most stable match and we are happy,” said Janice.

This is Janice’s first title in this year’s calendar or fourth overall on the WTA circuit. Last year he won the women’s singles title at the Chennai Open and became the women’s doubles champion at the Guangzhou Open and Chennai Open.

The title brought home from the Hobart International made Janice follow in the footsteps of Indonesian tennis legend, Yayuk Basuki, who managed to win the women’s doubles title at the Hobart International in 1996.
