COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — It’s rare, but not impossible. Parts of Florida are waking up to snow flurries on the ground. In fact, parts of the Sunshine State are under a Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather Advisory.

Our sister station in West Palm Beach reports as of Sunday morning, areas in the panhandle are forecasted to receive 1-2 inches of snow.
The Florida Department of Transportation posted video from one of its traffic cameras showing snow in the grass and trees along a stretch of I-10 in Okaloosa County. A check of FDOT’s traffic cameras show several areas with snow.
This comes just ahead of the anniversary of the historic January snow event of 2025. On January 21st just last year, Pensacola received 8.9″ of snow over 2 days, breaking its previous record by a substantial margin.
