The 2026 PGA Tour schedule shifts to California with The American Express 2026 tournament set to begin on Thursday. It’s the first mainland event of the year, and the debut of World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who is coming off two major wins in 2025, but hasn’t finished in the top 10 of this event since 2020.Â
The latest 2026 American Express odds from FanDuel Sportsbook list Scheffler as the +250 favorite (risk $100 to win $250). Other top contenders include World No. 8 Ben Griffin at +1700, with Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay and Ludvig Aberg all at +2000
Before locking in any 2026 American Express picks, you NEED to see the golf prediction and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.
Our proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June of 2020. In fact, the model is up over $8,000 on its best bets since June 2020, nailing tournament after tournament.
Now, with the 2026 American Express field locked in, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising.
One major surprise the model is calling for at The American Express: Sam Burns, one of the favorites at +2000, stumbles and barely cracks the top 10. Another surprise: Matthew Fitzpatrick (+2700) is a top-four contender despite being tied for the eighth-longest odds. He’s a target for anyone looking for a HUGE payday!
The model’s initial top-10 also includes three OTHER longshots of +2700 or higher to consider for outright bets! Anyone who backs these golfers could hit it BIG. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who they are before locking in any 2026 American Express picks!
