The summer transfer window is officially open with clubs now able to add new signings to their squad. The biggest clubs in European football and clubs across the continent are already making plans for next season. Teams are working tirelessly behind the scenes on identifying targets and figuring out their budgets.
Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals. A plethora of players will become available in the summer where clubs famously have more money to spend and aren’t as restricted by financial fair play rules. The rumour mill is beginning to pick up pace and we’ve collated some of the biggest current transfer stories.
Today’s biggest transfer stories
Chelsea have set an audacious asking price of no less than €115 million for star striker Nicolas Jackson. The Daily Mail report that Serie A giants AC Milan are interested in signign the 24-year-old talent and that the Stamford Bridge side would be prepared to sell Jackson. But it seems as though such a deal will require a sizable sum of money from the Italian club.
Another Premier League star that could be on his way to Serie A is Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho. Italian publication La Stampa report that the England winger has agreed personal terms with Juventus, after the Italian side made an offer of €20m for his signature.
Nottingham Forest are considering a move for Manchester City’s young star James McAtee. The 22-year-old talent has a host of Bundesliga clubs chasing his signauture, but the Daily Mail report that Forest are set to join the race and test Man City’s asking price of €46m for the player.
