Washington Capitals
Pierre-Luc Dubois wore a regular jersey at practice Monday for the first time since the Capitals center had surgery to repair abdominal and adductor muscle injuries in November. Dubois, who hasn’t played since Oct. 31, was not expected to play again until after the NHL’s Olympic break. He has been held without a point in six games this season. “’Dubie’ always looks good whether he’s in a regular jersey or a [noncontact] jersey,” Washington coach Spencer Carbery said. “He just continues to progress, so today was a good step. He was kind of partaking in some of the drills that we did, a little bit of contact there. So, another good day for him and he’ll just continue on with his progression.” … Rasmus Sandin (lower body) did not practice after the defenseman left a 6-5 overtime loss at the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, when he was injured while blocking a shot from Ty Emberson in the final seconds of the first period. The Capitals visit the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday (10 p.m. ET; KHN Prime, MNMT, KONG, SNW, SNO, SNE, TVAS). “We’ll see tomorow,” Carbery said.
