Cool Schools Plunges postponed to next week as part of Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge
MEDSTAR HEALTH BRAD CHAMBERS JOINING US ONCE AGAIN. THANK YOU. LOOK THEY JUST FINISHED THIS HUGE FEAT I KNOW YOU GOT A BIG SHOUT OUT BY DAN JOERRES. THANK YOU. DAN I WAS TEXTING WITH DAN LAST NIGHT CONGRATULATING HIM AS HE PLUNGED. I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT WEEK, TEN YEARS DOWN, TEN YEARS DOWN ACCORDING TO DAN. TEN MORE YEARS TO GO. HE THREW IT OUT THERE. SO YES, TEN MORE TO GO AND I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. LOOK, YOU’VE PLUNGED BEFORE. YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS LIKE. IT IS LITERALLY FREEZIN FOR A REASON. YES. AND THESE GUYS MAN I GOT TO GIVE IT TO THEM. NEVER BEEN THIS COLD BEFORE, BUT THEY STILL GOT THAT WATER, RIGHT? YEAH. YOU REALLY HAVE TO KIND OF PREPARE YOURSELF. I REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME THAT I DID IT TEN YEARS AGO WITH DAN AND WITH JIM SCHMUTZ FROM SPECIAL OLYMPICS. I WAS SURPRISED HOW COLD MY FEET WERE. THAT’S WHAT SURPRISED ME. AS SOON AS I HIT THE WATER, I THOUGHT MY TOES WERE GOING TO FALL OFF. MINE WENT NUMB, BUT RIGHT. SO I’VE KIND OF PREPARED NOW OVER THE YEARS, AND I LIKE TO GO ALL THE WAY UNDER. AS SOON AS A TROOPER, AS SOON AS I HIT THE WATER. I THINK IT’S BETTER FOR THE BODY. I GO ALL THE WAY UNDER AND THEN I COME BACK OUT AND. YEAH, AND THEN YOU RUN TO GET WARM. THEN I RUN TO GET WARM. BUT IT’S A GREAT FEELING. AND AND REALLY, YOU JUST FEEL REFRESHED AND YOU KNOW THAT YOU’RE MAKING A DIFFERENCE WHEN YOU’RE DOING THIS. WE’VE GOT ABOUT 45 SECONDS. I KNOW THIS YEAR WE’RE REALLY CELEBRATING ROB ROBLIN AND HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS. YES. YOU KNOW THE LATE ROB ROBLIN, FORMER REPORTER FOR WBAL. YOU’VE GOT A SPECIAL STORY. I DO. MY FIRST INTERACTION WITH ROB WAS MANY YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL. BEING A BALTIMORE NATIVE, AND ROB WAS COVERING A STORY AT THE OLD WESTVIEW DRIVE IN, AND I WAS THERE AT THE WESTVIEW DRIVE, AND THERE WAS SOME ISSUES HAPPENING THERE IN THE PARKING LOT. AND, YOU KNOW, A BUNCH OF HIGH SCHOOL KIDS, YOU’RE ALWAYS GOING TO WANT TO BE ON CAMERA WAVING. AND NEXT THING I KNOW, ROB STICKS THE CAMERA IN FRONT OF MY FACE AND I’M LIKE, OH MY GOODNESS, I WASN’T EXPECTING THAT. NOR WERE MY PARENTS EXPECTING TO SEE ME ON TV THAT WEREN’T SUPPOSED TO BE SUPPOSED TO BE THERE. SO. BUT ROB AND I JOKED ABOUT THAT AND I MISS HIM. THE THE PLUNGE. YOU ALWAYS THINK OF ROB, AND I THINK OF THE TIMES THAT HE WOULD COME TO THE HOSPITAL WHEN WE WOULD DO THE PHONE, BANK AND ROB ROBLIN, ON BEHALF OF MEDSTAR HEALTH, WE MISS YOU, WE LOVE YOU. AND REALLY, JUST CONGRATS TO ALL THE PEOPLE TODAY. BRAD, THANKS SO MUCH FOR JOINING US AGAIN THIS MORNING. LOOK MEDSTAR HEALTH, THEY’VE GOT THEIR PHONE LINES GOING RIGHT NOW. CALL IN. THAT IS GOING O
